National Day

09 August 1965, the day Singapore become independence. A historical moment for the nation and for the people. The day we stand together. The day we fight together. The day we work for each other. The day strive forward as a nation. And today we did it. Thanks to all our familes and friends.
This year 2011, we will hold our National Day Parade at Float@Marina Bay. At the event, you witness plenty of wonderful performances. My favorite and most touching moment is when we stand up and sing the national anthem and watching the national flag fly overhead us and saying the our national pledge. These moments just make me feel like standing up for our country and fight for whatever it may come. At the end of the event, there will be a wonderful fireworks. I thought the best act is at the finale when there are rapid and intense fireworks bursting up at the sky.

Every year, as the days grow nearer to National Day, I will yearn for Singapore patriotic songs. I still love the early days original Singapore National Songs. I still remember fondly of the songs, Stand Up For Singapore, Count On Me Singapore, We Are Singapore and One People, One Nation, One Singapore.

Those days as a kid, I enjoy seeing and listening to these songs been boardcast on television. Their lyrics had always inspire me to stand for my country and remind me of my Singapore roots. Fast forward to the 1998, the beautiful Home, sang by Kit Chan and written and compose by Dick Lee had somehow become a favorite national song. Many Singaporean living aboard will turn watery eyes after listening to this touching song during 09 August. In 2002, Stefanie Sun's We Will Get There is another commercial and patriotic sing. Both Home and We Will Get There's English and Mandarin version had attain a huge success.

BeerFest Asia 2011

Welcome to the annual Beerfest Asia 2011 ... . A wonderful event, from 16 to 19 June, for beer lovers! You could taste 250 different types of great and interesting beer from over 30 exhibitors. Drink up and enjoy beer from country like Australi, Belgium, Canada, Cezh Republic, Japan, Thailand and USA.

Look up for the live music performances by All Stars Beatles Tribute, Alls Stars Blues Brother Tribute and All Stars Rolling Stones Tribute and the outstanding The Killer Queen and The U2 Show - Achtung Baby. Yeah! Sing along and enjoy the music! I am sure it will be a wonderful and fun event with all the beer and music. Soak in the buzz and lively atmosphere!

I would suggest you don't drive to this merry Beerfest, please take public transport and enjoy as more beer as you want till the last drop!

Singapore Arts Festival 2011, 13 May - 05 June, will reconnect with us through the theme of I Want To Remember. Check out the various programmes of music, dance, theatre, film, workshop, exhibition, etc.. . I am quite excited with the up-coming event :) . I make myself available for the performances that I really fancy. Yeah !!

I thinking of catching the music performances of T'ang Quartet - Soul Capture, Inch Chua - Love and Accolades, Loops - Raga Jazz Liasion.

For dance acts, I am dreaming of Be-Being - Li and Sa, Yoshito Ohno - Kuu, T.H.E Dance Company - As It Fades.

Woww... . I am also interested in many other workshop's programmes! Now, I am trying hard to shortlist these programmes. These wonderful arts programmes are giving me a selection headaches! But I like this headache :)

Youth Olympic Games

Event

Singapore will be hosting the Youth Olympic Games 2010 on 14 Aug-26 Aug 2010. There will be an approximated 3600 young athleles, between 14-16 yrs, participate in this sport event. Look out for the future Olympian champion!
