Our Lee Kuan Yew

I have been thinking that should I have a post on our Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew? I find Singapore Discovery would be very incomplete if I did not include a post on our Lee Kuan Yew. Since this blog is dedicated to introduce Singapore to anyone, I find it important to let my readers know that Singapore will not be what we have today without the extraordinary leadership of Lee Kuan Yew. Lee Kuan Yew and his dedicated team had made and lead Singapore from 1965 till now.

At this paragraph, I cannot help but thinking of the We Are Singapore lyrics which are so true from our independence till now:

"There was a time, when people think Singapore won't make it, but we did There was a time, when troubles seemed too much for us to take it, but we did
We built a nation, strong and free, reaching together for peace and harmony"

However, I feel there are so much to be written on Lee Kuan Yew. I cannot just simply summerise our Lee Kuan Yew in 700 words in my post. I feel I should not be rude and disrespect to our Lee Kuan Yew.

Hence, dear readers, I think it is more appropriate to let you have more in-depth informations through the below website and books:

- From Third World to First : The Singapore Story: 1965-2000
-The Singapore Story: Memoirs of Lee Kuan Yew
-The Singapore Story: Memoirs of Lee Kuan Yew, Vol. 2: From Third World to First, 1965-2000

Singapore is very fortunate to have Lee Kuan Yew. I greatly admire Mr Lee's vision, intelligence and great personality. I find his speeches or interview-reply send clear statements and ideas to us and it is inspiring. And I always wonder how did Lee Kuan Yew often state the years of events happening during interview! How did he remember all those numbers so clearly?!

I have to say Lee Kuan Yew is my role model. Hereby, I would like to say, "Thank you, Sir.".
